What are the advantages of Design-Build over the conventional system of engineer and general contractor?

First and foremost, everybody is on the same team. We’re all in this together, and we all have the same goal: to arrive at a successful project that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations for their project. With one contract for the client, all design aspects for the project will fall under the control of the Design-Builder. This eliminates the burden for the Client of coordinating between the contractor and the design team. It is now completely under the control of the Design-Builder. During preconstruction, the design-builder will facilitate the meetings between the design professional and the client ensuring that the client goals are clearly established and met. During construction, the design professional is working with the design-builder ensuring that quality is maintained in every stage of the project. Finally, after construction, if there is a problem, you don’t have to wonder who to call. The design-builder coordinates all issues post-construction, even if it is design-related. Wright Construction has had great successes utilizing the design-build process and highly recommends it to its clients.

Design-Build firms are experts in their specific fields. Only qualified and licensed staff members, with industry specific formal training and experience, are selected for the team from the start. They have professional experience and understand pricing, sequencing and how projects go together.

Wright Construction is very sensitive to the importance of adhering to a budget and has developed a program to assure projects stay within budget. We look at developing, monitoring, and maintaining the project budget as a team effort, requiring communication and commitment throughout all phases of the project by all team members.

One entity is accountable for everything – not only for the completion of a beautiful and functional project, but also for costs and the timeline of completion. Costs and scheduling are addressed from the beginning in the design phase when the same group that designs the project also builds the project.
